In our capacity as leading transport consultants with offices in Clifton’s Berkeley Square, we are well-placed to appreciate how the business community in Bristol and the wider South West of England continues to go from strength to strength.

You can probably imagine, then, how thrilled we were to learn of our own James Darrall’s nomination for the Professional Services Leader award at the forthcoming South West Leadership Awards of TheBusinessDesk.com.

What are TheBusinessDesk.com’s South West Leadership Awards?

Many clients of our transport consultants will probably be familiar with TheBusinessDesk.com, which is a leading digital outlet for business news. The website provides the latest stories of relevance to the business community in regions around the UK, including the South West.

The news provider decided to create the South West Leadership Awards to celebrate the individuals across this part of England that serve as role models within their organisations, while raising the bar for their competitors.

There could barely be a finer setting in which to host the awards

This year’s Leadership Awards for the region will take place in the befittingly splendid setting of Harbour Hotel Bristol. Formerly home to two 19th-century banks, the hotel captivates the eye with its original and opulent features housed in former banking spaces.

We would certainly struggle to picture a more visually striking and enchanting setting in which to pay homage to the best in present-day business leadership around the South West of England.

What else should potential attendees know about this year’s Leadership Awards?

TheBusinessDesk.com South West Leadership Awards will take place from 6:30pm on 17th July 2025. As well as the Professional Services Leader category in which James is nominated, awards will be presented in a variety of other categories, including:

  • Young Leader
  • Sales & Marketing Leader
  • Public & Third Sector Leader
  • Mentor
  • Emerging Entrepreneur Leader
  • Diversity & Inclusion Leader
  • Green Leader
  • Technology Leader
  • Company Leader (up to 50 employees)
  • Company Leader (51 to 100 employees)
  • Company Leader (100+ employees)
  • Transformational Leader
  • Leader of the Year

The shortlist for the overall “Leader of the Year” gong will be announced on the evening of the awards. The awards are independently judged by the region’s business leaders, with this year’s judges including Lord-Lieutenant of Bristol Peaches Golding, arts consultant Louise Mitchell, and Ed Rowberry of BBRC.

At the time of typing, single tickets for would-be attendees were still available for £165 excluding VAT; tickets for a table of 10 were priced at £1,500, again excluding VAT.
