We were approached by Quallis Commercial Limited in relation to their proposed scheme to redevelop an existing industrial site located on Brooker Road in Waltham Abbey. The proposals would replace the existing commercial floorspace with eight new industrial units with associated parking across two car parks and associated access arrangements.
APPROACH
We prepared a Scoping Note which set out our proposed scope and extent of analysis to support the Reports prepared to assist submission of the application. Essex County Council were approached for their pre-application opinion in their role as the Highway Authority and the approach set out within our Scoping Note was agreed, including our approach to parking provision given the mix of uses being applied for.
We subsequently prepared a Transport Statement and a Framework Travel Plan for submission which received a positive consultation response from the Highway Authority.
OUTCOME
The planning committee resolved to grant permission subject to conditions and we are currently supporting the Client with the detailed design drawings to support Technical Approval for the proposed S278 works.
