Our Oxford team has worked closely with our client Maidstone Borough Council on the proposed development of two town centre sites in Maidstone for residential use. It was good to see that both proposals have received planning consent earlier this week. The two sites involved the partial reuse of public car parks to provide much needed residential capacity in the town centre.
The first scheme on Union Street comprised the redevelopment of a former NHS site and adjacent car park to provide a mixed 47 unit residential scheme together with a relocated 48 space public car park. The second scheme on Brunswick Street sought the redevelopment of an area of former car parking, a public long stay car park and a number of existing industrial units as a 47 unit mixed residential with a new 33 space pay and display car park.
If you have any questionsn about either scheme please contact Damian Ford.
