Transport Planning Associates is appointed by Island Green Power to support the submission of a Development Consent Order (DCO) application.
The West Burton Solar Project is a solar and energy storage project located on land in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The proposals include energy storage which will allow energy to be stored on site at times when grid-demand is lower and exported at times of higher demand to ensure no energy is ‘lost’ and help balance the National Grid. The Site will have a maximum output capacity of 480MW.
Once constructed, the Site will provide enough energy to power approximately 144,000 homes.
APPROACH
The application has currently progressed to the examination stage after it was submitted to the planning inspectorate in March 2023 and was formally accepted by PINS, acting on behalf of the Secretary of State, in April 2023.
To support the application, we prepared a plethora of reports including a Construction Traffic Management Plan, which included technical access drawings and routing plans, a Transport and Access ES Chapter, and a Transport Assessment.
OUTCOME
The final DCO decision is due to be announced Q4 of 2024.
