PROJECT
We were instructed by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk to support an outline planning application (some matters reserved) for the proposed demolition and development of up to 300 dwellings on the land owned by Suffolk Constabulary.
APPROACH
We initially prepared a Scoping Note that detailed our proposed approach to assessing the likely transport related impacts of the development.
We prepared a Transport Assessment for the proposed development at Suffolk Constabulary. This involved an extensive analysis of the existing highway network of the site, involving utilising Linsig Junction Modelling database to assess the existing traffic flows and the capacity analysis of the local highway network to assess the effect of the potential future development. Further analysis performed for the development included using Tempro 7.2 to estimate the impact the 300 houses would have upon the local highways network when constructed. Tracking, Swept-path analysis as well as access drawings were compiled by TPA’s technical team to accurately depict the feasibility of the proposed junctions and access for the development
It is noted that a development of this size will require a Travel Plan in the future and we outlined the necessary requirements for potential monitoring at the Site once developed.
OUTCOME.
The Transport Assessment has been included within the planning application which is currently awaiting approval from East Suffolk Council.
