PROJECT

This development sought the part retrospective and part newly proposed implementation of 6 new drive up storage units on the existing MyStore Storage site. We were instructed to produce a Transport Statement with justification over the minor loss of parking provisions as a result of new units.

APPROACH

Our first role was to understand the existing parking provision on site and how this would be impacted by the drive up storage units being in place. We were able to establish in our report that there would be a minimal loss in parking provision, and that what was remaining was still well within accordance with Oxfordshire’s Parking Standards.

Parking surveys were undertaken that allowed us to argue the demand for parking spaces was being met during the busiest peak of operation. We would use this information to further the positive stance on the parking provisions and give a quantitative evidence base to show the site is well within a suitable parking position.

OUTCOME

The planning application is to be put forward to the local planning authority for consideration.
