PROJECT

We were instructed by Long Road College to support their application for a new teaching block.

APPROACH

We worked with the project team and client to develop a travel survey of existing college students. This information was then collated and used to inform a new site-wide Travel Plan, which will be implemented as part of the proposed scheme. The data collected was additionally used to inform our Transport Statement submitted alongside the planning application, to identify the potential transport impact of the proposals.

We undertook post submission negotiations with the Highway Authority which resulted in their acceptance of the proposed mitigation. As a result a positive consultation response was received from the highway authority.

OUTCOME

Our Transport Statement, supported by our Travel Plan, concluded that the development proposals would comply with transport planning policy and that there were there are no highways and/ or transport related reasons for the refusal of the planning application. Following post submission negotiations a positive consultation response was received from the Local Highway Authority and planning permission was granted, subject to conditions.
