Transport Planning Associates is pleased to announce that following the submission of a written statement, planning permission has been granted for a 52 bed space care home facility in the Brislington area of Bristol. Bristol based principal engineer James Chequer provided the evidence to counter the Council’s allegation that the proposal would lead to excessive vehicle movements creating a detriment in highway safety.
The Inspector accepted that the development would not be detrimental to the efficient and safe operation of the highway network when he concluded that “…increased traffic would be well within the capacity of the carriageway…” serving the site. He further agreed that “the number of parking spaces to be provided as part of the proposal would be compatible with the principles of sustainable development…”.
Bristol based Director Craig Rawlinson commented that “…we consider that the levels of traffic and parking that will be generated are compatible with the surrounding environment and the Inspector has agreed with our arguments that the proposal would not have a harmful effect on highway safety”.
