Transport Planning Associates is pleased to announce that outline planning permission has been achieved for Copcut Rise, Droitwich for 740 dwellings, 14,000 sqm B1 Employment and a mixed use neighbourhood centre. Bristol based Director, David Knight said ‘I am thrilled for our Client that this major urban extension in Worcestershire has achieved planning permission. I first became involved with this project in 2001 when a local plan allocation was being sought so it is great that it has now achieved planning permission.

TPA prepared a comprehensive Transport Assessment, Residential and Employment Travel Plans and an environmental transport impact assessment for the Environmental Statement. Technical work included detailed assessment of M5 junctions 5 and 6 and agreement was reached with the Highways Agency without any highway works being required. Detailed bus modelling delivered a cost effective bus service improvement which will link the development with the town centre and the railway station. Access to the development will be via new roundabout on the A38 and new Toucan crossings will provide linkage for pedestrians and cyclists to the neighbouring parts of the town.

David said ‘This project has been challenging and has showcased a wide range of our professional skills. The development will deliver an exciting new community with quality new homes and employment space’.
