We were instructed by Lawrence Baker to assess the transport planning and highway engineering implications of a proposed development a four story care home scheme consisting of 92 apartments, along with 30 car parking spaces.

The site is located close to the town centre and adjacent to Stratford-upon-Avons rail station with easy access to local bus services.

APPROACH

To support the planning application a Transport Statement and Travel Plan were prepared.

Vehicle access to the site was complicated due to part of the site being safeguarded for a potential new link road which is proposed to route north from Western Road and across the adjacent canal via a disused rail bridge.

Working with the local highway authority, an suitable alignment for the link road was prepared, which also facilitated access to the proposed developments car park.

OUTCOME

Planning permission was granted in July 2020.
