PROJECT

We were instructed by Chessington World of Adventures Resort in relation to the proposed re-development of Ramses Revenge and the relocation of the existing Flying Jumbos ride to provide a new drop tower attraction including new queuing walkways, new entrance portal, theming, associated hard and soft landscaping and incidental works.

APPROACH

We worked with the project team to develop a layout, which responded to the needs of the Client. We built upon the evidence base developed as part of our work on other Merlin operated leisure attractions, including the Legoland Haunted House Planning appeal and the subsequent hybrid application, to demonstrate that the additional attraction would not result in a significant increase in additional trips to the site..

OUTCOME

The Transport Statement concluded that the development proposals would comply with transport planning policy and would not result in a severe impact on the existing highway network. A positive consultation response was received from the Local Highway Authority and planning permission was granted, subject to conditions.
