We were appointed by Kronos Solar Projects to support a planning application for a 40.9MW solar park. The site which totals 61.9 hectares is located across two sites near Milton End and Arlingham in Gloucestershire. Once operational, the solar park will provide the equivalent annual electrical needs of approximately 11,500 family homes. The Solar Park will be operational for 40 years, after which the site will be decommissioned and returned to its existing use.

APPROACH

A planning application was submitted in June 2022. Due to the Solar Park being located across two locations and the large site area multiple access points were required.

To support the planning application we prepared access drawings, visibility splays and swept path analysis to demonstrate that safe access could be achieved. The accesses needed to accommodate deliveries during both the construction and operational phases. The drawings TPA produced were submitted alongside a suite of other technical documents.

OUTCOME

The planning application was withdrawn in December 2022, with the application to be re-submitted in due course.
